There is really just one chord used in the verses (inverted Major 7), just in different keys.
Crossroads
Named for the 1986 movie from which it was inspired. Immediately following the incredible guitar duel at the end, I ran upstairs and began playing all the music exploding in my head. The piano part is exactly as I composed it back then. It is also a 'cross' between that guitar duel and the incredible concert band song we played in high school called 'Exaltation'.
Freedom
Pastor of Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship, Rashiid Coleman, who is also an accomplished musician and producer, heard me tinkering with this before a praise & worship rehearsal and said, “That’s a hit.”
Genesis
My wife purchased my first ‘real’ keyboard in 2000 - a Korg Triton with a built-in 16-track sequencer. This was the first song I composed in it, named after the first book of the Book that inspires me the most.

**Anthony
Anthony is a boy who was diagnosed with brain cancer (medulloblastoma) at 19 months old. His grandmother showed me some pictures of him, one of which moved me greatly. He was being held by his grandfather, who was looking at him with deep love and devotion. On my way home from work that day, a melody popped into my head that I kept singing over & over again. What I was singing ended up being the only lyrics to the song. I tried for months to add more lyrics and/or background vocals, but nothing worked. I decided it may not be meant to say anything else. The instrumental at the end was just something I played while worshiping the Lord and praying for Anthony’s healing. I had no intention of making it part of the song, but decided one day to record it.
**All proceeds from this song will go to cancer research and related expenses.

Nice Move
Struggling with writer's block after composing the first portion of the song, I decided to change my environment to see if that would help. I moved all my equipment from the dark & dusty basement to a 2nd floor room with plenty of natural light. Sure enough, the blockage cleared and I was able to complete the song.
Empty Hands
Written shortly after losing my first child in utero at approximately 5 1/2 months.
You Played for Me
Inspired by the bedtime song my dad used to play for me on his guitar. The 1950's feel is to honor his favorite style of music, and the chords in the chorus are the chords to his song.
Carry Me Home
A song I wrote as a teenager in the home in which I was raised.
